Unit 1: Class 12 - Ancient Egypt: The New Kingdom and Third Intermediate Period (1550 B.C. – 712 B.C.) Part 3

Unit 1, Class 12 concludes our study of the New Kingdom of ancient Kemet (Egypt). Unit 1 Class 12 features a documentary on Ramseses II or Rameses the Great, who is considered the last great Pharaoh of the New Kingdom.  Unit 1 Class 12 also features DNA analysis of the Rameses' bloodline and a slide show of the impressive statues and art of the New Kingdom. The class ends with an article discussing the collaspe of the New Kingdom, which leads to the Third Intermediate Period of ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) history in which Libyans desended the throne until the 25th Nubian Dynasty reunified ancient Kemet under black African rule.
