Unit 1: Class 8 - Ancient Egypt: The Old Kingdom & First Intermediate Period (3150 B.C. – 2055 B.C.) Part 2

Unit 1, Class 8 continues our study of the Old Kingdom of ancient Kemet (Egypt). The Old Kingdom, in which ancient Kemet begins, is called the Age of the Pyramids. All ofthe famous pyramids were built during the very beginning of ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) civilization, which lasted over 2,000 years. This class features a specatular slideshow with images of the Old Kingdom pharaohs, art and artifacts, as well as detail images of the pyramids, including rare photos of inside the pyramids (they are not simply blocks on top of blocks!) The class ends with an article on the First Intermediate Period of ancient Kemetic (Egyptian) history, which signaled the collaspe of the Old Kingdom.
